You Rock!!

Hi everyone! It is a beautiful day in Ohio, tons of sunshine and a nice 83 degrees! It is also my darling sons eleventh birthday!! I gotta tell ya, I HATE to make guy cards! I can never seem to get them right and I usually end up just giving up and buying a card. Well, my son asked me if I was going to make his card this year so I knew I had to come up with something!!

I am actually pretty happy with the way it turned out and I know he will love it and that is really all that matters. I stamped the guitar in Versamark and heat embossed it with black powder. The sentiment is stamped in Pure Poppy from PTI. I also used the black and red ink pads to "grunge" up all the edges to give it more of a edgy feel. I sanded the edges and the front of the patterned paper so it would look distressed as well.

Well that is all for me, gotta go get ready for dinner. We are going to Wasabi for dinner. It is a Hibachi restaurant and my sons absolutely favorite place to eat. I can't wait to get there. He really wants an iPod Touch and has no idea that he is getting one tonight for his birthday! I can't wait to see his face!!

Thanks for stopping by,

With Sympathy

Hey all! Wow...what a week, I am so glad it is Friday!! My son has a soccer tournament all weekend so today will probably be the only chance I get to spend any time in my craft room. I have been making the invitations for my brother-in-laws wedding and have 200 of 300 completed so I was relieved to make a card that was not wedding related!!

This card is for three challenges, Splitcoast Stampers WT223-Texting Challenge and LSC225-International Flair Challenge and Stamp Something's Black, White, and one other color somethings Challenge

I find that Sympathy Cards are always the hardest to make and this one was no exception!! Still not sure about all the components especially the bow but I do love the colors. The base is Ocean Tides cardstock from PTI. The text is actually a few words of sympathy typed in the Love Light font and translated into French and printed onto Ocean Tide cardstock in a slightly darker shade. I cut the half circle using my Fiskars Circle Cutter. I used a layer of black cs and PTI Vellum cardstock under the Ocean Tide satin ribbon.

Thanks for stopping by,

THT001 ~ CAS Father's Day

Hello again! I can't believe I am actually uploading another card already. OK, granted it is a Clean and Simple (CAS) card but hopefully this is the first step in keeping a promise to myself to take more time for me and spend a little more time in my craft room.

This card was completed for a new challenge at the Treehouse Stamps Blog called the Treehouse Thursday Challenge. Their first ever challenge was a color challenge using Baja Breeze, Chocolate Chip and White/Vanilla. I was absolutely thrilled when I saw this as this is my favorite color combo!!

For this card I finally broke out my new PTI Stamps from the May release called Star Prints. The sentiment was stamped in Chocolate Chip and the star was stamped in Baja Breeze and punched out with the Fiskars XLarge Star Punch. The white panel was embossed at the top and bottom with the Swiss Dot Folder.

Thanks for stopping by,

TECC71 ~ Gingersnaps Celebrate!

Hello Everyone!! Another crazy week at our house!! Seems like every time I sit down to stamp somebody needs something. I have had the card for Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge partially completed since Saturday. I was finally able to sit down for a few this afternoon while the kids were busy to finish it up.

The image used on this card is part of a Digital Stamp Set available from All That Scraps called Gingersnaps Celebrate by C.C. Designs. I absolutely love Digital Stamps. They are so versatile and can be colored anyway you would color traditional rubber. I colored this image with Prismacolor Markers and used Stickles on the heart and cupcake frosting.

Thanks for stopping by,

Ooopsy Daisy...

Hello Everyone!! Thanks for stopping by my shiny new blog. I hope everyone is having a great summer so far. This is the first summer that I am not working and will be home with my kids full time. I am so excited and can't wait to do all the things we have planned!!

Ok enough rambling, This card was completely inspired by this sentiment stamp from Custer's Last Stamp. When I saw it, I just knew it would be perfect for this image from Stamping Bella which was colored with Prismacolor Markers. The daisy was stamped and colored twice and popped up with pop dots.

Thanks for stopping by,
