Multi-Challenge Card with Pax Penguin

TGIF! It has been a long week and I am so ready for the weekend. We are going to see New Moon tonight and I can't wait. Thought about going to the midnight showing but decided to wait...not real big on crowded movie theaters. It will probably be just as crowded tonight but I am keeping my fingers crossed in hopes that it won't be as bad.

Today, I decided to use one of the new November digi releases from The Character Cafe. This is Pax Penguin ~ Isn't he just too cute? I printed him out on Select White CS and colored him with PrismaColor Markers and added a little bit of stickles to the snow and ice. I wanted to add a sentiment to the bottom right but couldn't find any I liked so I left it off til later.

I am entering this card in a few different challenges.....
- Friday Sketchers 79
- DU2DS Challenge 26 (Glitter)
- Cupcake Craft Challenge 66 (Digital Image)

Be sure and check out Feature Friday at the Character Cafe Blog. The challenge this week is a sketch challenge and the DT has some awesome inspiration to share with you.

This is super easy to make ~ just print the template directly on the back of your designer paper then cut, score and fold! I decided to keep mine simple with just paper and satin ribbon, but this could be easily be embellished for any style.

Thank goodness it's Friday! I am so ready for the weekend! It is time for another Feature Friday at The Character Cafe and Heather has come up with a Rockin' 3D Challenge ~ Create a 3 piece Gift Set with at least one 3D Item.

I used one of the adorable November releases, Bernard Bear, to create a Birthday Set. It includes a card, an altered frapp bottle filled with gumballs and a matching gift bag. I printed the digi image in a few different sizes on Select White CS and colored him with PrismaColor Markers. The ability to resize the images is one of the best things about using digital images. I cut out the ballons for the bottle and added the line with a black pen.

True Heroes

Happy Monday everyone! I have a very special card to share with you today. In honor of the upcoming Veteran's Day (Nov. 11th), I wanted to make a special card to honor our Veterans and all the brave men and women currently serving in the Armed Services.

Having served four years in the United States Army myself, this is a day that is very near and dear to my heart. I have many friends and family still in the service and many of them are in Iraq or Afghanistan and I pray daily for their safe and speedy return to their loved ones.

I thought this adorable image from Inky Impressions would be perfect for my card! I printed the camo background and used it to paper piece Lili's outfit. The My Hero sentiment is Star Prints from Papertrey Ink.

I am also going to use this card for Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge #12 ~ Make a patriotic-themed card for a soldier. As a bonus you can donate the card to Operation Write Home and they will be distributed to soldiers who rarely get mail, or just need encouragement. Be sure to put your card in an envelope and write “Any Hero” on the front. For more information on how to make a card for “Any Hero” click here.

Paper Maniac Decoration a Day ~ Holiday Ornament

Hi everyone!! This month at Paper Maniac we are providing you with daily Holiday Inspiration. Today, I am showing you these great gift card/money ornaments. I buy a ton of gift cards during the holidays and I usually end up placing the envelopes on the tree until I see the recipients. These little ornaments will look so much better decorating the tree and the recipients will have a nice keepsake for their own tree.

I used Nestabilities to cut all the Scallops and Circles for this ornament. I cut the red cardstock with a large scallop and used a large circle for the Eskimo Kisses (Basic Grey) DSP. I stamped the image using JustRite Something Sweet Borders & Centers Round 2-3/8 and used a medium circle to cut it out. I mounted that on green cardstock cut with a medium scallop. and centered this on the the larger scallop. I cut another large scallop and cut that in half, used score tape along the edge and put that on the back to hold the gift card or money.

Just in case you missed the Newsletter this week - Here are the current specials going on in the store:

- 20% off item JustRite Stamps (no coupon needed)
- 20% off Spellbinders Dies and Impressabilities (coupon in newsletter)
- Don't forget to check out this weeks Paper Maniac Challenge.

AiFactory #10 ~ Alter Something

Hello! Hope you are all doing well. It has been fairly quiet around here lately. Soccer and Cheerleading are finally over and my kids are both taking a break from winter sports this year. It is kinda of strange to no be rushing around everyday from one thing to another.

This week at AiFactory, we are challenging you to alter something. As soon as I saw these adorable Garden Bugs, I knew exactly what I wanted to do. These images are just perfect for altered baby onesies. I used Photoshop to add the phrases and mirror the images, printed them on to transfer paper and ironed them on! I used the flower image in the set to make a litte 3x3 card for a perfect gift set. I loved this project so much that I made a couple sets and am giving one away. Just leave a comment on this post by Monday (11/9) at 10pm EST and I will announce the winner in my Tuesday post. As a special bonus if you post a project to the AiFactory Challenge Blog I will give you a second entry for the onesies.

To play along and be eligible for this weeks prize please upload your card or project to Mr. Linky on the AiFactory Blog by next Monday at Midnight EST. No need to use AiFactory Images, but if you have them we would love to see them! What are you playing for...A Digi Paper Pack of your choice. If you uplaod to an online gallery please use AIF0010
